Pleasant Hill Middle School is home of the Cougars. Students will discover an environment that not only helps them learn how to be successful in the classroom, but also discover their abilities to create, to think, and to lead. As a participant in the South Carolina Arts Commission Arts in Education program, Pleasant Hill Middle School shows students different approaches to learning through the fine arts.

Lexington One’s Mission — “To guide all students to learn, grow, and excel” — is the foundation of the work (and fun) of the Pleasant Hill Middle School faculty, staff, and students, and it is made possible with the incredible support we receive from our Cougar Community. The district mission can be seen in our PHMS motto:
BE COMMITTED.
Cougars come prepared to learn and to be actively engaged, caring about growing their skills and knowledge as much as earning a good grade.
BE CARING.
Our Community represents the heart of the Cougar, maintaining respect for others and self while embodying kindness for all in words and actions.
BE COURAGEOUS.
Cougars strive to do the right thing - even when no one is watching - through setting goals and working with others to attain them.
Middle school is a time of JOY, CHALLENGE, and GROWTH — often at a rate for many children that is unparalleled at any other time in their schooling, which means MIDDLE LEVEL EDUCATION MATTERS. As both experts in and lifelong learners of best practices, the educators at PHMS — teachers, custodians, food service workers, counselors, administrators - are invested in supporting each child to learn, grow, and excel while making sure they are (and feel) safe. Thank you to the adults who entrust us with your children! Together we all will strive to model for students as they themselves develop in what it means to:
BE COMMITTED. BE CARING. BE COURAGEOUS. Go Cougars!
